Laurence Currie is one of Canada’s premier producers and engineers, having helped musicians find and record the right sound in the studio for decades. From Sloan, to Wintersleep, to Hey Rosetta, Currie has been able to take an artist or group’s vision for a project and see that vision through. Laurence has made a career of working in the studio, whether he’s producing, engineering, or mixing and he has recently opened his newest studio, Cedar Hollow Studios.

Cedar Hollow Studios, just an hour West of Toronto in Rockwood, is close enough to reach via GO Transit, but offers the increasingly popular atmosphere of a studio far away from the noise of city life. In between laying down bed tracks and listening to the mix, artists can sit by the pond, go for a hike, or even go for a skate in the winter months. 

Some of the other artists Laurence has worked with include: The Cliks, HOLY FUCK, Repartee, The Gandharvas, Amelia Curran, as well as emerging acts MorMor, Common Deer, The Once, Gloryhound, Duane Andrews, Fevers, Bond Girls, and Port Cities. 

Laurence has also been recognized for his work by his peers, having won three JUNO Awards, worked on Gold Certified records, and been awarded multiple awards from the ECMA, Music Nova Scotia, and MusicNL. 

And he also starred in the AUX TV program “Master Tracks” with Moe Berg from The Pursuit of Happiness.
